Opened in 1860, Panerai has become famous for its timepieces used by the Italian Navy forces. Specializing on diving watches, the company has created a luminous substance, called Radiomir, used for better dial vision under the water. Although the brand has been available for civilians only since 1993, it has got the popularity among many famous people. The “Marina Militare” label refers to the Italian navy, a nod to Panerai’s historical relationship with the navy’s special forces.
This pre-owned luxury Panerai Submersible Marina Militare Carbotech has a 47mm carbon fibre round shape case with a uni-directional rotating carbon fibre bezel and is secured on a black rubber strap with steel pin-buckle. The beautiful black carbon dial with luminous hour markers and dots. The index dots and hour marker are luminous just like the Panerai-style sword-shape hands. The white hands offer great visibility on the dial. It also has a small date aperture at 3 o’clock and a small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock. This is all protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass, iconic crown protector system and a solid case back. The heart and soul of the PAM00979 is the brand’s in-house caliber P.9010 and it generates 72-hours of power reserve on a full wound. Water-resistant at 300 meters.
